Denise Mina

Denise Mina brings legal training and a deep knowledge of Glasgow to crime fiction concerned with who controls a story. Conviction begins when Anna McDonald recognizes someone from her concealed past in a true-crime podcast and starts investigating alongside Fin Cohen. The novel shared the 2019 McIlvanney Prize for Scottish Crime Book of the Year. Confidence reunites Anna and Fin as journalists drawn into the disappearance of filmmaker Lisa Lee and the disputed history of a Roman silver casket. Mina's official bibliography places both novels beside her Garnethill, Paddy Meehan, and Alex Morrow books, while their shared investigators give this pair its own continuity.
