Fieldy is the performing name of Reginald Arvizu, the bassist associated with the formation and rise of Korn. Got the Life is his 2009 memoir, which William Morrow issued with collaborator Laura Morton. Its full subtitle signals the book's main arc: addiction, faith, recovery, and Korn. The narrative moves from Arvizu's musical childhood and early bands in Bakersfield through the group's emergence from the Los Angeles scene and the pressures that followed commercial success. It also considers damage to family relationships, his father's death, and the Christian conversion that shaped his recovery. The title echoes Korn's 1998 song, but the book is an autobiography rather than a history of that single.
