Fiona Valpy
Fiona Valpy writes historical fiction shaped by research into women’s lives and wartime experience. The Skylark’s Secret links a Highland community during the Arctic convoys with a daughter returning decades later, while Sea of Memories follows a family story between the Île de Ré and Scotland. Lake Union Publishing issued the novels in 2020 and 2018 respectively. Valpy spent seven years living in France before returning to Scotland, and both countries recur throughout her work. Sea of Memories was nominated for a 2018 Saltire Literary Award.
