G. E. Moore (1873-1958) was a British philosopher who, with Bertrand Russell and Ludwig Wittgenstein, helped found the analytic tradition. A longtime Cambridge professor and editor of the journal Mind, he was known for his defense of common sense and his influence on the Bloomsbury Group.
