Flowers of Fire reports South Korea's feminist decade from the inside: the hidden-camera epidemic and the hundreds of thousands of women who marched against it, the wave of allegations that ended a provincial governor and a presidential contender, the campaign that struck down the abortion ban in 2019, and the backlash since, which is organised and now electoral. Jung covered the country for an international news agency in Seoul for years and knows the activists rather than the ministries. It is one of very few accounts of any of this available in English, and it lets the women involved set the terms.
