📚 1 Book ✍️ Health 📄 PDF & EPUB

Henry Munson Lyman was a Chicago physician and medical teacher whose work joined physiology with the study of nervous disorders. Insomnia, and Other Disorders of Sleep appeared in 1885 through W. T. Keener. The volume considers ordinary sleep, wakefulness, dreams, sleepwalking, and the medical understanding of disturbed sleep available in its period. Its title page identifies Lyman as a professor at Rush Medical College and the Woman's Medical College, as well as a physician at Presbyterian Hospital. The book now serves both as an early sleep study and as a record of late nineteenth-century clinical reasoning.
