Hua Xu co-authored Intent Recognition for Human-Machine Interactions with Hanlei Zhang and Ting-En Lin. Springer Nature Singapore issued the 2023 volume in the SpringerBriefs in Computer Science series. Its subject is natural-language understanding in dialogue systems, moving from established intent classification to unknown-intent detection and the discovery of new intent categories. The authors also describe TEXTOIR, an experimental platform that brings detection and discovery methods together. DBLP indexes the book alongside Xu’s continuing research on multimodal and open-world intent recognition.
