Jayne Fresina

English by birth and long settled in upstate New York, Jayne Fresina writes historical romance set mostly in Regency and Victorian England. Sourcebooks Casablanca brought her out of digital publishing and into print with The Most Improper Miss Sophie Valentine in 2012, the opening of the Sydney Dovedale books, which follow one village and its stubborn inhabitants across a span of years; Lady Mercy Danforthe Flirts with Scandal came from the same series in 2013. Before the Kiss, a novella from 2014, introduced the Book Club Belles Society, five young women of the invented village of Hawcombe Prior who read Jane Austen aloud and manage their own courtships badly, and Once Upon a Kiss opened that series properly later the same year. True Story began the Deverells in 2015, with an impoverished widow taking work as secretary to a disreputable man with eight children. The Peculiar Folly of Long Legged Meg, which stands outside that series, followed in 2017.
