Jessie Mihalik

Hunt the Stars puts a bounty hunter and the general whose side she fought against on the same small ship with a job neither of them can refuse, and the series is space opera built on a romance frame rather than a romance dropped into space opera. Mihalik worked as a software engineer, self-published the Consortium Rebellion books, and was picked up for the later ones. The ships, the fights and the repairs are described with a precision that gives the day job away.
