Author: John Medina

Medina is a developmental molecular biologist who spent his research career on the genetics of psychiatric disorders and teaches bioengineering in Seattle. Brain Rules sets out twelve findings he considers established enough to act on, among them that sitting still harms learning, that lost sleep measurably damages thinking, and that multitasking is a fiction. He is careful about what the evidence will and will not carry, and says plainly that most classroom and office design ignores all of it.
