Katherine Corp

Katherine Corp danced as a Radio City Rockette with her identical twin sister Kimberly, and the pair opened Pilates on Fifth, a studio in midtown Manhattan, in 2000. Six years later they founded Pilates Academy International, a teacher training body whose curriculum now runs through more than fifty affiliated centres across six continents, with Katherine responsible for the education side. She read East Asian studies at Duke, then took a Columbia master's degree. Pilates for Beginners, written with Kimberly and published in 2018, sets out the mat exercises and short sequences the sisters teach, arranged for practice at home without apparatus. Their instruction is also their business: the book puts on paper the method taught in the studio they own and certified through the academy they run.
