Katy Madison

Katy Madison builds romantic fiction around social constraints, practical bargains, and reluctant partnerships. An Inconvenient Wife, published independently in 2013, turns a marriage-of-convenience premise into a sports romance. Ice dancer Brandi Yeats needs a new partner to pursue international competition, while Russian skater Nikolai Petronof needs a path onto the same national team. Their legal arrangement is meant to solve a professional problem, but training and shared ambition complicate the distance they planned to keep. Madison also wrote The Wedding Duel, Awakening His Duchess, and the Wild West Weddings sequence, whose books Promised by Post and Want Ad Wife use courtship shaped by circumstance. An Inconvenient Wife differs from those historical settings through its focus on elite skating and nationality rules. The novel nevertheless reflects Madison’s recurring interest in couples forced to negotiate duty, reputation, and affection under pressure.
