Kim Fielding
Kim Fielding writes fantasy, romance, and stories about characters negotiating displacement and identity alongside her academic career. Flux is the second volume of the Ennek trilogy, following Stasis and preceding Equipoise. The sequence is set in an alternate world centred on the city-state of Praesidium and follows Ennek and Miner beyond the constraints established in the opening book. Fielding describes the trilogy as dark fantasy, while library records identify Flux as a 2016 fantasy publication from Dreamspinner Press and DSP Publications. Other books span the Bones series, the Bureau of Trans-Species Affairs stories, contemporary novels, and shorter fiction. Fielding has also taught university students, a professional background reflected in her interest in institutions, cultural rules, and people living between social categories. By placing Flux in the middle of a three-book arc, she uses travel and changing circumstances to test the central relationship while expanding the political and magical world introduced in Stasis.
