L. L. Langstroth

L. L. Langstroth (1810-1895), in full Lorenzo Lorraine Langstroth, was an American beekeeper, inventor, clergyman and teacher. He applied the idea of bee-space, the minimum gap bees leave unsealed, to hive frames that bees keep separate, in the design now called the Langstroth hive. His book "Langstroth on the Hive and the Honey-Bee" is among his writings.
