Laurel Oke Logan

Laurel Oke Logan is a Canadian-American writer whose books include biography, reflective nonfiction, and historical fiction written both independently and with her mother, Janette Oke. Janette Oke is Logan's book-length account of her mother's life and literary career, originally published by Bethany House in 1993 as Janette Oke: A Heart for the Prairie. The biography traces a Canadian prairie upbringing, family and faith, and the growth of a fiction career that began with Love Comes Softly. Logan is Janette and Edward Oke’s daughter, giving the work the perspective of a close family witness rather than an outside critical biographer. Logan later collaborated with Janette Oke on the Return to the Canadian West and When Hope Calls series. Those partnerships extend the relationship documented in Janette Oke into shared fiction, while the biography remains a distinct authored work with its own publication history, subtitle, and Bethany House context.
