M.J. Ford

M.J. Ford combines a British editorial career with fiction for grown readers, alongside more than eighty books for younger audiences published under the name Michael Ford. Watch Over You is his third mystery novel and continues the Oxford investigations led by Detective Sergeant Josie Masters. Called to the home of her friend and former colleague Harry, Josie finds a case complicated by an absent lodger and a widening sequence of connected incidents. The 2020 Avon edition followed Hold My Hand and Keep Her Close under the HarperCollins imprint. His Oxford studies in Classics and English and long editorial career help explain the novel's procedural structure and attention to pacing. Watch Over You belongs specifically to the Josie Masters sequence rather than to the children's books issued under his expanded byline. That distinction matters because the two names represent related parts of one career but address different genres and readerships.
