Author: Mark Pett

Mark Pett taught sixth grade in the Mississippi Delta, an experience behind his comic strip Mr. Lowe, and has also taught English and editorial cartooning in Prague. His other syndicated strip, Lucky Cow, ran through Universal Press Syndicate from 2003 to 2008 and turned on the staff of a fictional fast food chain. Pett calls himself an authorstrator, since he usually writes and draws the same book, though The Girl Who Never Made Mistakes was shared work: he illustrated it and wrote it with Gary Rubinstein, and Sourcebooks Jabberwocky published it in 2011. Beatrice Bottomwell is nine, has never once slipped up, is famous around her town for it, and then slips up in public. Later printings added a subtitle selling the picture book as an introduction to growth mindset. Pett's solo titles include The Boy and the Airplane, The Girl and the Bicycle and This Is My Book. He lives in Salt Lake City with his daughters.
