Pip Williams

Williams trained as a social researcher and was reading about the making of the Oxford English Dictionary when she noticed how many of its contributors and its subjects were men. The Dictionary of Lost Words follows a girl who grows up under the sorting table in the Scriptorium and starts collecting the words the editors throw away, most of them women's. It sold heavily in Australia and then abroad. She lives in the Adelaide Hills.
