Reece Hirsch
Reece Hirsch draws on American legal practice, cybersecurity, and corporate risk as a thriller writer and privacy attorney. His debut novel The Insider introduces San Francisco lawyer Will Connelly after a colleague's fatal fall places him under suspicion and inside a scheme involving securities enforcement, organized crime, and access to sensitive government information. Berkley published the legal thriller in 2010, and International Thriller Writers later named it a finalist for its Best First Novel award. Hirsch's professional background gave the book's law-firm and regulatory conflicts a practical foundation without limiting the story to courtroom procedure. He later wrote The Adversary and Intrusion around former Department of Justice cybercrime prosecutor Chris Bruen, followed by the Lisa Tanchik novels Black Nowhere and Dark Tomorrow. The Insider begins that career at the intersection that continues to define his books: technical systems create opportunities for crime, while lawyers and investigators must understand both the rules and the people willing to exploit them.
