Shawn Stevenson
Sleep Smarter collects the sleep hygiene research into twenty-one strategies, covering light exposure, temperature, caffeine half-life, screens and exercise timing.
Stevenson hosts a health podcast with a large audience and came to it after recovering from a degenerative spinal condition in his twenties, which is where the interest in lifestyle intervention began.
He is not a physician or a sleep researcher, and some claims about supplements and about earthing go beyond what the evidence supports. The core advice on light, consistency and temperature is well founded and worth the book on its own.
