Tizzie Hall
Tizzie Hall began working with babies as a nanny and maternity nurse in Ireland, moved to Australia in 2002, and built Save Our Sleep out of that experience: a book, a website, paid consultations and a line of sleeping bags and other goods sold through it. The method is a fixed routine, set by age, with times for feeding and sleeping that parents are told to hold to. The site is explicit that the advice is experience-based rather than medical or scientific, and that has been the substance of the argument about her. Kidsafe Queensland publicly criticised guidance she gave on wrapping infants before putting them into car seats, and researchers on infant sleep have said the routines leave no room for the developmental changes that wake babies anyway. The book has sold very well in Australia regardless.
