Susan Harper

Susan Harper builds compact mystery series around amateur investigators, close communities, and returning characters. Books and Brews launches the Back Room Bookstore Cozy Mystery sequence, bringing newcomer Monica to her aunt's bookshop as she adjusts to the mortal world and assists a local police officer with a suspicious case. French Fatality takes the Flight Risk Cozy Mystery cast to France for the sequence's seventh investigation. Although the settings differ, both books use an accessible puzzle, a brisk pace, and relationships that continue beyond one case. Harper's other sequences include Caribbean Cruise Cozy Mysteries and Darla's Delectables Food Truck Cozy Mysteries, where travel and food create fresh circles of suspects. Both featured novels date to 2018, an active period in her bibliography. Their contrasting premises show how she varies location and occupation while retaining the familiar ensemble and accumulating personal history that draw readers through connected mysteries.
