The Gloria Chocolate Layer Cake lists 2 cups sifted cake flour, 1-1/3 cups sugar and 2-1/2 teaspoons baking powder among its dry ingredients.
A recipe called Golden Jubilee Cake says the makers of Spry are celebrating their Golden Jubilee. The Victorian Applesauce Cake is described as spicy and fruity, keeping fresh a long time, grand for lunch boxes, and needing no frosting. A footnote says cake flour is recommended because it makes the finest cakes, but that if all-purpose flour is used, flour is reduced 2 tablespoons and the directions in the recipe are followed.
