About this book

All Cats Are Gray by Andre Norton is called an odd story, made up of oddly assorted elements that include a man, a woman, a black cat, a treasure and an invisible being. A narrator says that Steena of the spaceways sounds just like a corny title for one of the Stellar-Vedo spreads, and that this Steena was no glamour babe. The narrator says Steena was as colorless as a Lunar plant. The narrator says that she drifted from port to port and, being an expert operator on the big calculators, found jobs wherever she cared to stay for a time.

A gemmed bracelet is described rising from the pile and in the air, tinkling its siren song. Bat leaped from the bed and escorted something to the door, remaining a careful distance behind. The narrator says that this is the end of Steena’s story because, as we have been told, happy marriages need no chronicles.
