About this book
All Four Gospels for Readers presents the complete text of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John, edited by Lightheart. A section headed The Gospel of Matthew gives "The book of the generation of Jesus Christ, the son of David, the son of Abraham." The text gives the instruction "When you give alms, do not let thy left hand know what thy right does."
A prayer in the text runs "Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name." A passage names the time as the fifteenth year of the reign of Tiberius Caesar, with Pontius Pilate governor of Judaea. The text records the words "If you love me, keep my commandments."
