Angel Feather

Bill Hiatt’s engrossing short story “Angel Feather” is situated in the world of Spell Weaver. Hal, a high school student with no close friends, discovers an anonymous note and a feather in his backpack. The feather is an angel feather, according to the note, and it can perform one miracle. Hal hesitates, wondering if this is a prank or the fulfillment of his deepest desires. The proverb “Be careful what you wish for” confronts him as he mulls over this choice. Despite being a part of the Spell Weaver series, this tale stands alone and may be read without reference to the other books in the series.
