About this book
A line under the title reads, "Horse waif enjoin toil-evasion." The contents list has, among others, a heading Furry Tells with Ladle Rat Rotten Hut, Guilty Looks Enter Tree Beers and Center Alley under it, and a heading Noisier Rams. A piece headed Casing Adder Bet carries verse that says somewhere in this favored land the sun is shining bright and somewhere hearts are light. The verse credited to Ernest Lawrence Thayer says there is no joy in Mudville, and that mighty Casey has struck out.
The text says Anguish is definitely not a dialect, since it consists only of unchanged English words which anyone can pronounce. A numbered point says Anguish relieves that terrible craving to tell dialect stories.
