About this book
Biography and Family Record of Lorenzo Snow is a book by Eliza R. Snow. The preface says the Biography and Autobiography of the writer's brother, Lorenzo Snow, has been written as a tribute of sisterly affection for him, and as a token of sincere respect to his family. The preface says the work is designed to be handed down in lineal descent, from generation to generation, to be preserved as a family Memorial.
The text quotes incidents from the journal of the writer's brother, recorded by himself, among them that he was baptized by Elder John Boynton, then one of the Twelve Apostles, June, 1836, in Kirtland, Ohio. The text says that, while everything in connection with the United Order was in a flourishing condition, a serious calamity befell the people, and that their woolen factory, one of their most productive and important departments, with all it contained, was destroyed by fire.
