About this book
The preface addresses the women of America about their Mormon sisters and says the record of their lives is sent so that readers may have an opportunity to judge them in the spirit of righteousness. The contents list names, among others, A Strange Religious Epic and The Mother of the Prophet. A first-person account says the speaker saw two personages, whose brightness and glory defy all description, standing above in the air.
The same account says the speaker went to inquire of the Lord to know which of all these sects was right, that he might know which to join. The text says that from this time until the 21st of September, 1823, Joseph continued, as usual, to labor with his father. The text says three hundred Mormon cities have sprung up on the Pacific slope, just as five hundred branches did in Great Britain. The text says it was Great Britain that gave to the sisters their grand missionary opportunities.
