About this book
Color Standards and Color Nomenclature presents named colors and colored plates, with a table setting out black and white percentages for different tones of carbon gray. The accompanying note cautions that the percentages may not precisely match the colors on the plates, since absolute precision in reproduction is hardly possible. The note limits the claim for the reproduced colors to a reasonably close approximation to the ideal.
The definitions identify fundamental colors as the six psychologically distinct colors of the solar spectrum: Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue and Violet. The definition of primary colors describes, theoretically, spectrum colors that cannot be made by mixing two other colors.
