About this book
A manuscript handed to Isya Joseph in Mosul by his friend Dâud aṣ-Ṣâîġ as a keepsake lies behind this study of the Yezidis. Part one translates the Arabic text, including Al-Jilwah, the Black Book, a poem to Šeiḫ ʿAdi, a prayer and the articles of faith. Part two examines where the sect came from, its figure Melek Ṭâ´ûs, festivals, sacraments, marriage customs, tribes and persecution. It belongs to the World Worships Series.
