In the Cajun Girls Series, Heather M. Orgeron’s ‘Doppelbanger’ is a stand-alone modern romantic comedy about a single dad. Gina Bourque, a 35-year-old woman who still plays the field, is introduced in the story. Her small black book is full of youthful, dark-haired, melancholy-eyed men. Conversely, Jeffrey Ryan, who is almost forty years old and has lost his wife finds it difficult to lead a single life while raising two young girls.
There are sparks between Gina and Jeffrey when they meet while on a Caribbean cruise, but not always in a positive way. Jeffrey feels Gina is too profane too feisty, and too wild, whereas Gina finds Jeffrey too old, too blond, and too stiff.
