About this book
Egyptian Tales, Translated from the Papyri presents tales that the preface distinguishes from stories of an impossible world of imaginary beings, emphasizing the doings and thoughts of human men and women. A tale brings Tahutia and the Foe in Joppa together in a tent set far from the soldiers. Tahutia has prepared sacks, cords, fetters and baskets, arranging the sacks and baskets as forage for horses is stored.
The commentary discusses the soul or vitality as something thought separable from the body at will and transferable to other objects or positions. The commentary also describes Na-nefer-ka-ptah requiring Setna to reunite the family in his tomb at Memphis.
