About this book
Fletcherism: What It Is; Or, How I Became Young at Sixty is by Horace Fletcher. The contents list names chapters, among others, How I Became a Fletcherite, Scientific Tests, Rules of Fletcherism and What Is Proper Mastication. In the chapter headed How I Became a Fletcherite, the writer says that over twenty years ago, at the age of forty years, his hair was white and he weighed two hundred and seventeen pounds.
The text says anyone who does not extract all of the taste from his food, while it is in the region where taste is developed, is not a Fletcherite. A paper in the text says its objects in publishing and distributing it are twofold: to make the subject as widely known as possible, and to solicit the aid of colleagues in investigating it more fully.
