Ham Sandwich is a work by James H. Schmitz. Wallace Cavender walks into the entry hall of the Institute of Insight almost half an hour late for the regular Sunday night meeting of advanced students.
The text says a healthy bank balance wasn't an absolute requirement for membership, but it helped, and that all but a handful of the advanced students were in the upper income brackets. The text says the evening's theme was the relationship between subjective and objective reality, as understood in the light of Total Insight. A speaker who addresses others as my friends says that if even one had been lagging behind the others, if there had been any unevenness in the concentration each gave to the exercise tonight, this materialization simply could not have occurred.
