Heart Talks

Heart Talks is by Charles Wesley Naylor and is described as a volume of confidential talks on the problems, privileges, and duties of the Christian life, designed to comfort, encourage, strengthen and instruct. The contents list talks headed What It Means To Trust The Lord, The Blessing Of Dissatisfaction and Egg-Shell Christians. The text takes the words Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for him (Psa. 37: 7) and says we are to wait patiently and at the same time to rest in him.

The text says that when Luther was summoned to meet the diet for trial on a charge of heresy, he declared that he would go even if there were as many devils there as there were tiles on the housetops. The text says Solomon married princesses of the royal houses round about him for political reasons, and that his wives turned away his heart after other gods. The text says that when the sunshine of God's love shines upon and warms our hearts, it lifts us up from all the slime and filth of sinful habits.
