Jacqueline Firkins’s “How Not to Fall in Love” is a charming and real modern love story. Theo, Harper’s best friend, is an idealist, whereas Harper, a hardened cynic, works in her mother’s bridal store. Harper offers to educate Theo on how not to fall in love when he experiences heartbreak. Their positions become more hazy as the courses go on, and they both experience surprising emotions. For lovers of passionate stories and romantic comedy, this is a lovely read.
