Japanese Collections is a 1922 guide by Helen C. Gunsaulus (1886-1954) to the Japanese holdings of the Field Museum in Chicago, where she served as assistant curator of Japanese ethnology. The booklet walks visitors through the Frank W. Gunsaulus Hall, named for her father, covering arms and armour, prints, lacquer, and the objects of daily Japanese life. Museum guides of this period are now read as records of how American institutions first presented Asian cultures. Free PDF download available on BDeBooks.
