The narrator says he teaches a course in general science in Ridgeville Junior High School.
Marjorie asks what a junior achievement group does, and the narrator replies that it has the purpose of teaching the members something about commerce and industry, and that they manufacture simple compositions like polishing waxes and sell them from door-to-door. The text asks where Tommy is, and Pete Cope says he stopped off at the bank to borrow some money, and that they will want to buy materials to make some of these kites. One speaker says they have over six thousand in the account, and Peter says they were planning to buy a hydraulic press.
