About this book
Double Take is credited to Richard Wilson, with illustrations by Paul Orban. A line of introduction says a barn turned out to be a spaceship in disguise, and that young Paul Asher found himself going around in circles. Paul Asher, 27, a men's furnishings buyer, leans back and lets a cloth band be fastened across his chest. A girl in the car says, Just keep going, Sweetheart, as fast as you can, and pats the oversized pocketbook that lies in her lap.
A young man watches a bruiser go through the wall of a cell-like room, and by placing his fingers in exactly the same position as the other had done, is able to make the wall open for him. Wheelchair tracks abruptly make a ninety-degree turn and end at a blank wall, with the communications room thought to lie somewhere beyond it. Paul Asher wakes up late with a confused recollection of a dream about a beautiful brunette giving him a backrub.
