About this book
Leaves of Life for Daily Inspiration is by Margaret Bird Steinmetz, 1914. The contents run through the months from January to December. The entry for January Twelfth notes that Edmund Burke was born 1729, Johann Heinrich Pestalozzi 1746, François Coppée 1842 and John S. Sargent 1856.
The text gives the lines Blessed is the man that endureth temptation; for when he hath been approved, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord promised to them that love him. A prayer in the text reads Gracious Father, cause me to be critical of my life, that I may not be deceived in myself. The entry for December Twelfth notes that Robert Browning died 1889, and gives the lines A people is but the attempt of many To rise to the completer life of one.
