About this book
Life and Adventures of Frank and Jesse James, the Noted Western Outlaws is by J. A. Dacus. The text says it was best for Robert James, the minister, that he was called home before the shadows fell. The text says that when the father of Frank and Jesse James was laid away in a far-off grave, Frank was but a wee boy.
The book describes robbers who make a Bishop give up his watch and who search Mr. Breckenridge, obtaining from him a pocketbook containing one thousand dollars, an elegant gold watch and a very valuable diamond pin. The text says the building was on fire, that the Guerrillas would be forced to evacuate their fortress, and that it was resolved to break through the Federal line. Quantrell led the desperate charge, followed by George Shepherd, Jarrette, Younger, Toler, Little, Hoy and others, and the text says seventeen men made the attempt and succeeded in making their escape.
