About this book

Keats's life runs from his birth in London on 31 October 1795 to his death in Rome on 23 February 1821, told by William Michael Rossetti in 1887. The first three chapters are the biography: schooling at Enfield, an apprenticeship to a surgeon, the friendships with Leigh Hunt and Haydon, a walking tour of Scotland and Ireland, and the voyage to Italy with Joseph Severn. Later chapters turn to the poems, from the 1817 volume and Endymion to Isabella, The Eve of St. Agnes, Hyperion and the odes, and to Keats's appearance and character.
