About this book
The contents list names, among others, Love at a School, Lady Charlotte, The Tutor and Recognition. The girl called Browny was dark enough to get herself named so, and in the absence of a fair girl of equal height to set beside her, she shone. The observant boys read Browny's meaning, that Matey had only to come and snatch her.
One speaker names Mrs. Lawrence Finchley and says, “I say nothing to hurt the poor woman; I back her against her imbecile of a husband.” The text says that Weyburn had now and again a blow at the breast, of untraceable origin.
