The catechism presents the Ten Commandments as instruction that a father should give to his household, with questions asking what the commandments mean. The explanation of keeping the Sabbath holy calls for respect toward preaching and God's Word, willing attention to that word, and learning from it. The teaching about a neighbour's property rejects theft, fraud and poorly made products, while calling for help in protecting property and career.
The discussion of baptism says that plain water cannot accomplish the promised things without God's Word being with and in the water. The prayer thanks the Father through Jesus Christ for all blessings and affirms that he lives and rules forever. The Home Chart gathers passages for teaching and admonishing people in holy orders and different statuses in life about their duties.
