About this book

More About Peggy is a book by Mrs. George de Horne Vaizey. The first chapter is set in mid-January, when at home in England the ground was white with snow, while the sun shone down with brazen glare on the blue waters of the Bay of Bengal, along which a P and O steamer was gliding on its homeward way. Peggy shakes her head obstinately and says she was ablaze with patriotism before she left, and has been growing worse and worse all the time she has been abroad.

Peggy imagines a perfect summer in which she and her father turn gardeners and trot about all day long tending their plants. Peggy says she has set her heart on a moat, which has been the dream of her life, and that there will be an orchard where the spring bulbs come up among the grass. Rosalind admits naïvely that just now there is a Special Somebody, with title, estate, family and diamonds, all complete.
