About this book
On the Firing Line in Education is a book by Adoniram Judson Ladd. The preface says that the book is made up of ten studies, only one of which was designed primarily for publication. The text insists that real education is a slow process that takes years and years and years of varied experiences to bring about the fine fruitage of stable character.
The text asks why the Department of Education was not called on to direct the educational work. A quoted passage has a speaker who requires all things that are grand and true, all things that a man should be. The text also says that it is easier to fall into a trap than to get out of it, and speaks of the situation at the University of North Dakota.
