About this book

On the Trail of the Space Pirates is a Tom Corbett Space Cadet Adventure by Carey Rockwell, with Willy Ley as technical adviser and illustrations by Louis Glanzman.

In one scene Tom, Roger and Astro shake hands with Strong in his office after their leave. Roger says Tom's mother showed them a whale of a good time, and Astro licks his lips at the thought of her cooking. A screen shows Commander Walters of Space Academy, who says the exposition will open sooner than expected. Strong tells the cadets that the Solar Exposition opens on Venus next week and that they are going. In another passage a giant prisoner called Bull and a man named Coxine trade hard words with Strong, and a flash of light and a roar shake the ground. In a third, Astro is tied up and thrown down beside Roger, while Tom and Roger think of the beacon signal aboard the Polaris.
