About this book
Our Calendar, written by George Nichols Packer, takes up the Julian Calendar and its errors and how they were corrected by the Gregorian. The book offers rules for finding the Dominical Letter and the day of the week of any event from the days of Julius Cæsar 46 B. C. to the year of our Lord four thousand. The book announces a new and easy method of fixing the date of Easter.
The Hebrew calendar is presented as showing the correspondence in the date of events recorded in the Bible with our present Gregorian calendar. The text defines the lunar month as the time which elapses between two consecutive new or full moons, and the week as a period of seven days. The chapter on Easter says the festival is held in commemoration of our Lord's resurrection.
