The final part of Edgar Rice Burroughs's Caspak trilogy picks up with Bradley, one of the men stranded on the lost, dinosaur-haunted continent of Caprona. Snatched into the sky by the Wieroo, a race of pale, winged humanoids, he is carried to their grim island city of skulls and forced to plot his escape. Along the way he rescues Co-Tan, a young woman of Caspak, and slowly unravels the secret of how life on the strange land renews itself. Fast, pulpy, and full of aerial menace, the story delivers the lost-world adventure Burroughs did so well. Published in 1918, it closes the trilogy begun in The Land That Time Forgot.
